The blessings of God are evident all around us,
including in the sacred spaces that make up our houses of worship. These
sacred spaces are where we come to be spiritually nurtured, enriched,
and recharged. These spaces become a gathering place to meet in fellowship
with our neighbors, and are the center of our mission activities.
In response to the blessings that God bestows, we are called to be like the faithful steward Jesus describes in Luke 12: 42-44, caring for who and what God loves and working to further the kingdom of God. For, “From everyone to whom much has been given, much will be required; and from the one to whom much has been entrusted; even more will be demanded” (Luke 12:48). This is true for our houses of worship. Even as we are blessed as communities of faith with gathering places for our worship and ministry,
