Living the Declaration: A Webinar on Indigenous Rights

2020, 1:19:14 min
The church has been called by the Truth and Reconciliation Commission “to formally adopt and comply with the principles… of the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples” (Call to Action #48). The government has been called to do the same (Call to Action #43).

Where are we on this journey toward right relations, and what are the next steps that we need to take? In this webinar, Judy Wilson (Secwepemc) from the Union of BC Indian Chiefs, Romeo Saganash (Cree) who helped draft the Declaration, and Quaker advocate Jennifer Preston, explore both the challenge and the promise of implementing the Declaration on the ground, with our communities, and in our lives.

This webinar was organized by Mennonite Church British Columbia's Indigenous Relations Working Group.
